Places to visit close to Mougins, Valbonne & Castellaras le Vieux

Mougins, Valbonne and Castellaras Le Vieux are all ideally located in the heart of the South of France, so if you are searching for a new Home close to Nice with a list of famous and well known places very close by, then this will be an ideal location.

The famous Promenade des Anglais which runs down the beach side of Nice is just a 30mins drive away heading east on the A8 motorway and enjoys a perfect place to sit & relax as you watch people walk, ride or skate up & down the promenade.

Just behind the beach area is the bustling streets which has an abundance of eateries and shops plus on a daily basis there is a vibrant and colourful market surrounded by lovely restaurants and bars.

Further into Nice you’ll find the main square which often has some activities stationed there and for the more adventurous a ride on one of their modern trams is highly advisable.

Just a little to the south can be found the marina and a host of various private and commercial boats as the road winds itself around and out towards Villefranche and Saint-Jean Cap Ferrat.

Villfranche has one of the largest natural harbours in the region so you will often find one of the larger ocean going vessels there as it provides an ideal place for these larger ships to allow their passengers to visit the local area.

Saint-Jean Cap Ferrat is a well know and very popular destination with it’s lovely marina, surrounded by lovely restaurants and bars, the wonderful views across the bay and the constant flow of boats, both small and large, that often visit to sample to lunches served in the beach restaurant!

From the beach and the restaurant there you can see distant views of Monaco with it’s towering skyline of apartment buildings. This principality is approx 45 mins drive from Mougins/Valbonne and is a very interesting place to see if you have never been before.

With it’s large marina (hosting some of the finest vessels in the area) and condensed properties, Monaco is a must see if only to drive around the roads and recognise some of the Grand Prix land marks!

A walk around this area is always interesting as you will often hear the roar of an expensive car, be amazed at the boats and can often be surprised as just who you might bump into!

At only an hour away lies the boarder of Italy with their coastal towns of VentimigliaBordighera and San Remo.

Whilst Ventimiglia and Bordighera offer an ideal stop for a walk along their promenades and a stop for lunch or afternoon ice creams, San Remo is more town-like and has a daily market offering a variety of products and local foods. It’s an interesting and easy drive to here, so a good day out if you want to venture into another country whilst staying in the South of France.
